Break Bricks Fly Free
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Break Bricks Fly Free is a game design love-letter to Hyperball (1998), where the player commands a demolition drone, on a mission to free trapped souls from an abandoned (and haunted!) mansion.
In addition to the typical mechanics of a Breakout/Arkanoid clone, this game features booster pads for changing the direction of the ball mid-flight, an assortment of powerups, allied creatures to assist you, and enemies to obstruct you!
There are 40 levels to clear, with a series of checkpoints every couple of levels for saving progress.
A tutorial is in progress! Below are the controls, for a lack of a tutorial level:
MOUSE CONTROLS
- Left Click: Fire / Activate booster pads
- Right Click (Tap): Swipe in current direction
- Right Click (Hold): Grab ball
KEYBOARD CONTROLS
- A/D/Left/Right: Move paddle left/right
- Spacebar: Fire / Activate booster pads
- Shift (Tap): Swipe in current direction
- Shift (Hold): Grab ball
BOOSTER PADS
Booster pads are blue bricks with arrows in them. Press the FIRE button as a ball passes over a booster pad to immediately change the ball's direction of flight!
NOTICE: This game DOES use the patched Unity3D engine (version 2021.3.45f2), which contains the security fix for a major vulnerability in the Unity3D engine, announced in early October 2025.
